WREC 2004 Ecological Footprint Presentation Day

The key question for the 21st century will be "How can people live within the ecological limits of the earth?"

The WREC Ecological footprint project helps schools address this question with the strategies and resources to enable schools to become community leaders in reducing our ecological footprint. Annual Presentation Day offer excellent professional development for teachers and a unique opportunity for teachers and students to share their successes.

The theme of this years program will be examining how we can best integrate ecoliteracy into the school curriculums. An overview of the Ecoliteracy argument will be followed by a case study from Findon PS which is integrating the environment into all its major curriculum areas. A panel discussion will bring together all views and current experiences and provide a basis for ongoing networks. The remainder of the day will highlight the achievements of Geelong East PS, Gilmore College and McKillop College and a range of schools committed to creating a sustainable future.

Be a participant. Your school is invited to send teachers, parents and students. (There will be a special student environment program in the morning sessions while teachers are participating in the Ecoliteracy PD).

Presentation Day is also an opportunity for your school to highlight its environment programs as part of recognition and sharing of school environmental achievements. Please contact us if you would like your school to have a stand at the day. Schools with stands are guests of the event - ie no costs for staff or students attending.
